The Great Hat Parade

Syndicate 1 hat parade.

Room 5 designed and made protective hats in technology. 

They made big hats, little hats,hard hats, soft hats, waterproof hats and sunhats.

They presented their design brief to their parents who came to watch the hat parade in the hall with all the syndicate 1 children.

Parent's engagement in writing

Some learners in Room 5 are using google slides to think, create and share their writing with their families. 

This has allowed parents and siblings to give feedback and provide  prompts so that detail can be added to the writing.

Exploring play dough

Room 5 have been developing their skills in manipulating play dough before they progress to using clay.

Room 5 think they are ready to use clay.

Maui and the Sun

Room 5 shared the legend Maui and the Sun and then  worked together to create a collage of Te Ra.

For position and orientation in maths the children used the Maori legend to make a track for Maui and his brothers to find Te Ra.
