Smarty Pants

Room 5 maths learners had been exposed to simple addition in class.They had learnt that the symbol + means join 2 groups together, and = means count how many there are altogether. 

The children had read the story Smarty Pants so maths was integrated into their Fun Day Friday activity. 
They had to show how many coloured patches they put on  Smarty Pants's pants.

Now we need to find out why Smarty Pants had holes in his pants that needed mending with patches?

Perhaps our readers might have some ideas to share with us.

Funny Faces

These artists explored straight and curved lines to create some simple closed curved faces. 

The artists found it tricky to finish at the starting point without lifting pencils off the page. 

Perseverance paid off.

Room 5 had a nice morning doing a number of activities to help them learn the letter name and sound for Nn.

Mrs Drake loved the way  nine children never gave up on an activity once they had made a choice. 

The new learners in Room 5 have put out a challenge to  our readers to see if they can post a comment naming the activities beginning with n.
